So.......is it fact or fiction? I'm here to tell you that its absolutely 100% true! This is not a gimmick or some "get rich quick" scheme. Blogging IS an honest and legitimate way to earn extra money from home. How do I know? Well I know because I've done it and I'm here to tell you that YOU can too. While I can't promise that you'll make millions overnight like so many "work from home" sites do, I can show you how to earn a few hundred dollars or even full-time income from just a few hours of work per week.
So How Do I Start Earning Money?
1. Be Motivated
Well believe it or not you've already taken the first step. The fact that you're even reading this article means something in you has motivated you to look for other possible sources of income. Two years ago I sat down at my computer determined to find a way to make money from home and quit my nine to five job. I can not tell you how many marketing programs and different pyramid schemes I enrolled in. Long story short I lost more money than I made and I was completely frustrated. It was at that point I decided to try blogging and I have not looked back since. So the fact that you're here right now means you've taken that first step.
2. Find A Platform
There are many different websites available that offer various platforms to use for your blog. The key is finding the one that works best for you. Sites like Blogger.com and WordPress.com allow you to write and publish blogs at no cost to you. However its harder to promote your blogs when it's hosted on someone else's platform. If you're more determined to dive into blogging headfirst and have a little cash to spend, you can always purchase a domain name and create your own website. However keep in mind this will require a lot more work and time because you're building your own page.
3. Know Your Topic
The great thing about blogging is that you are free to write or discuss whatever you feel interested in. The possibilities are literally limitless. So get creative! That being said, KNOW YOUR TOPIC. Find things you are comfortable talking about or that are important to you. This is typically the easiest and safest way for a beginner blogger to get familiar with what blogging actually entails. People will not and can not take you seriously if you decide to write on something you know nothing about or have not researched. Once you've become comfortable with your blogs and are ready to expand your audience, I would highly suggest researching trending topics on Google. By finding out what the majority of people are interested in, you can target a certain audience and increase your chances of your blog being read.
4. Incorporate Ads
If you had to remember one thing out of this entire article, remember this. This is the key to making money.
Ads+Page Views=Money
That's the secret. This is what all those marketing sites and big wig internet moguls are trying to sell you. You don't need to invest hundreds of dollars into some seminar to get all the "hidden tricks and secrets." Its simple....
ADS +PAGE VIEWS=MONEY.
I just can't stress this enough. This how most websites and blogs earn their money if they aren't selling a product. In fact displaying ads on blogs is typically easier than posting them to your own website because many blogging sites provide codes that allow you to simply copy and paste them. So how do you place ads on your blog? It's easy! There are multiple ad agencies on the internet that are willing to pay you to display their content. Google Adsense, ClickBank, Text Link Ads, and Linkworth are all excellent places to start. You simply have to sign up (which is completely free for all agencies) with the ad agency as a publisher. After providing your basic information and setting up how you would like to be paid, your account will have to be approved. Upon approval you can start designing, customizing, and placing ads onto your blog. After that its simply a matter of keeping track of your blog and your earnings.
5. Promote!
Promote! Promote! Promote! We've already established you will need views for your blog to generate any kind of income. Of course you'll get views just from people searching online but you can't rely on these alone. You need to be proactive and promote your blog as much as you can. Social media is one of the best ways to do this. Nearly everyone is linked to each other in some way through social media today. By spreading word online through these various avenues you can significantly increase your money-making potential. Email and word of mouth is also helpful in getting the word out.
What Do I Do Next?
From this point on there's nothing left to do but write! Although I'm sure the majority of readers won't take the time to actually earn a full-time income from blogging, a few couple hundred dollars earned can't hurt. Don't give up or get discouraged if it takes time or you're not seeing as big of a cash flow as you hoped. Remember you'll only get back as much as you put in. Happy Blogging!
